Special Activities/Recognitions:

• Oregon’s Governors have come to a number of the meetings over the years, as well as Members of Congress, to discuss transportation issues with members. The Association has achieved a “go to” status among legislators when they are considering transportation issues, and has become a resource to the media and government officials on transportation issues.
• VPR put on the “Show Me the Money from TEA-21” conference, which was a statewide gathering of political and governmental entities designed to study and discuss the impact of the Intermodel Surface Transportation Efficiency Act on Oregon. Congressional officials, agency heads and national speakers attended as well as many state and local officials and interest group representatives.
