PUBLIC POLICY CONSULTING AND GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

National Basketball Association

As part of a public policy consulting contract, VPR was asked by the National Basketball Association to conduct a statewide conference and media event with community leadership, sports spokespeople, NBA representatives and government officials to share views on the issue of the potential addition of basketball to the Oregon Sports Action Lottery Game. VPR successful solicited the attendance of Charles Grantham, Executive Director of the NBA as well as sports stars from both the Portland Trail Blazers and state universities. Also in attendance were a large representation of the media and members of the legislature. Numerous op-ed pieces and publicity was generated from the event and the NBA achieved its goal. Similar work was done for the National Football League.
